Austin Kocher

Austin Kocher teaches geography at Western Governors University and the University of Michigan. His research focuses on the legal and institutional geographies of immigration policing, and the politics of immigrant rights movements in the United States and Europe. His dissertation research focused on the U.S. immigration court system as an apparatus of immigrant control, and its connection to the broader socio-political project of bordering.
