William David Hart is associate professor of religious studies at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. He is a critical theorist of religion whose interests encompass religion, ethics and politics, as well as African American religious thought. His latest book is Black Religion: Malcolm X, Julius Lester, and Jan Willis (2008).
